Newcastle University 纽卡斯尔大学 课程更新

A ‘test, track and trace’ system that Newcastle helped to pilot, is being operated by our National Health Service to contain the spread of the virus, and all non-essential shops are now open, with cafes, restaurants, museums and cinemas due to follow suit this week. Physical distancing rules are slowly being relaxed and travel is becoming easier, both in the UK and internationally – Newcastle International Airport has reopened, and the major airlines will restart international flights to Newcastle this month.

Throughout lockdown, the Newcastle community has pulled together to protect the elderly and vulnerable and we are seeing this spirit of caring continue as lockdown begins to lift. Our National Innovation Centre for Ageing is helping explore how app technology – used to co-ordinate Covid-19 volunteer efforts – can swiftly connect volunteers with older people in the region who need support. And, as a world-leading, research intensive University, we are continuing to advance public knowledge about Covid-19 – from helping to develop new therapies for the virus, to understanding the impact lockdown restrictions have had on our daily lives.

Course Suspensions

Universities around the world have been reviewing their academic portfolios to ensure the safety of their students and staff, and the value we are able to deliver to students. Work on adapting our campus facilities to adjust for social distancing started early, and we’re happy to say that only a very small number of courses have had to be withdrawn for 2020 entry.

We have taken care to make sure some courses are running in all of our subject areas. The University will be communicating to both offer holders and applicants on Thursday 2nd July, outlining their options for study at Newcastle University. You can find more information on these suspensions in the attached document. This information is correct as of 01/07/2020, further updates on course suspensions will be provided to agents in due course.
