Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dawn Freshwater has announced that the University of Auckland will teach the remainder of Semester 1 online. This decision will apply regardless of the date by which New Zealand comes out of level 4 lockdown measures. New Zealand recorded only 29 new CONVID-19 cases today. This is fourth day in a row that new cases have fallen day on day. As we enter the third week of the lockdown, New Zealand’s strategy to combat transmission of the virus is taking effect. Prime Minister, Jacinda Adern announced, "In the face of the greatest threat to human health that we have faced in over a century, Kiwis have quietly and collectively implemented a nationwide wall of defence”

The University goes into mid semester break today and we will resume teaching (online) from Monday 27 May. Mid semester break includes Easter which is a holiday for the whole nation.

This break comes at a welcome time for our staff and students who have managed the transition from traditional face to face teaching to a new era of online delivery. 对于我们的员工和学生来说，这一突破来的正是时候，他们已经成功地实现了从传统的面对面教学到在线授课新时代的转变。
