As we are all experiencing the challenges of the COVID-19, GETI would like to share some information on the current situation in Tasmania and provide FAQ as at 3 April 2020:

  1. Australian border restrictions

· As of Midnight 20 March, only Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents and immediate family members can travel to Australia. -从3月20日午夜开始,只有澳大利亚公民、永久居民和直系亲属才能前往澳大利亚。 · Whilst this measure is in place, students will be unable to arrive and commence their studies. -在这项措施实施期间,学生将无法抵达并开始他们的学习。 · Circumstances and advice will change throughout the coming weeks, and GETI will inform agents and students as required. -情况和建议将在未来几周发生变化,GETI将根据需要通知代理和学生。 2. Tasmanian Border Restrictions · Any students who are already in Australia and travel to Tasmania, will be required to self-isolate for 14 days (Coronavirus COVID-19 isolation guidance).  This applies to all travellers, including Australian citizens.- 任何学生都已经在澳大利亚和旅游塔斯马尼亚,将所需自我隔离14天 (冠状病毒COVID-19 隔离 指导)。  这适用于所有旅客,包括澳大利亚公民。 · This Tasmanian self-isolation requirement is in addition to Australian Government requirements for all returning international travellers and specified cruise passengers to enter self-isolation at their point of arrival into Australia.  · Tasmania has declared a State of Emergency with strict requirements to self-isolate, unless undertaking essential activities such as work, study, seeking medical care and basic needs such as food. 3. Students 3.1 STUDENTS WISHING TO RETURN HOME IMMEDIATELY  · Students returning home are advised to seek specific advice from their travel agent around international travel at this time.  · TasTAFE students should contact their International Student Advisor (ISA) for the latest information that may impact on their travel and their study program.  In addition to seeking advice regarding international travel, school students must: 除了寻求有关国际旅行的建议外,学生还必须: · Inform their homestay host of intended travel arrangements, including departure date and time -告知寄宿家庭主人预定的旅行安排,包括出发日期和时间 · Obtain parental consent via email, specifically acknowledging the request to return home prior to completion of study period. -通过电子邮件获得父母的同意,明确承认在学习期间结束前返回家园的请求。 · Provide flight itineraries (required for both interstate and overseas flights) and  -所需提供的航班行程(包括州际和海外航班) · School students should send both parental consent and flight itineraries to GETI via email to: homestay@geti.tas.gov.au -学生应该向父母同意和飞行旅程GETI通过电子邮件: homestay@geti.tas.gov.au · There may be financial implications of returning home early.   1. 2 SUPPORTING STUDENT ISOLATION IN HOMESTAY ACCOMMODATION  · For students living in homestay and who may be required to self-isolate in future, the host will continue to provide all meals and support. -对于住在寄宿家庭并且将来可能需要自我隔离的学生,寄宿家庭将继续提供所有的膳食和支持。 · Student learning will also continue to be supported by the schools. -学生的学习也将继续得到学校的支持。

3.3 IF STUDENTS DEVELOP FLU LIKE SYMPTOMS While coronavirus is of concern, it is important to remember that people may display symptoms of a common cold or flu and not have COVID 19. -虽然冠状病毒令人担忧,但重要的是要记住,人们可能表现出普通感冒或流感的症状,而没有冠状病毒。 If a student appears unwell, they should be kept at home as per Public Health advice. -如果学生出现不适,应按照公共卫生建议将其留在家中。

  1. FINANCE 4.1 FEE PAYMENTS    · Students who are experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19 and do not have an instalment plan in place, should contact GETI to ask for a payment plan.  Email info@geti.tas.gov.au · For those students with a payment plan in place, GETI will offer to defer their quarterly April payments until June. The outstanding fees will be allocated across all future payments. · Tuition fee discounts for online modes of delivery will not be applied. 4.2 DEFERRALS AND WITHDRAWALS
    · Deferrals and withdrawal policies will apply differently to the following scenarios: 延期和取消政策将不同地适用于下列情况: Scenario 1 – Student chooses to defer their studies (to commence at a later date) · Full credit of the fees will be transferred to any future studies. 学生选择推迟学业 (开始在稍后的日期) 所有费用的全额将会转到以后的课程中。 Scenario 2 – Student has been unable to arrive in Australia and has chosen to withdraw from their studies. 学生无法到达澳大利亚,选择退学。 · In this instance, GETI will process the withdrawal then a full refund shall be issued, including the administration fee.  在这种情况下,GETI将处理退出然后发给全额退款,包括 治理费 Scenario 3 – Student chooses to voluntarily withdraw due to COVID-19. 由于COVID-19,学生选择自愿退出。 · In this instance GETI’s standard refund policy will apply. GETI will assess requests for exemptions to the refund policy on a case by case basis.
    在这种情况下,GETI的标准退款政策将适用。GETI将根据具体情况来评估免除退款政策的请求。 · Given the unprecedented circumstances GETI will use compassionate and compelling grounds where appropriate to support students during this difficult time.  If a withdrawal is due to financial hardship, students will need to support their claim with evidence as per normal practice. Exemptions to the refund policy will be approved by the Manager or Operations Manager at GETI. 

COMMUNICATING WITH GETI · Our team are working as normal, although at this time, we will not conduct face-to-face meetings in our office at Bathurst Street, Hobart · We will use email, phone and video-conferencing to communicate with international students and agents.
