Request to defer commencement form (PDF, 232KB)(推迟入学申请表)

Suspension of enrolment - Subclass 500 (schools) visa procedure (PDF, 777KB)

Refund request form (PDF, 405KB)(退款申请表)

下班后、周末或学校假期期间咨询,请拨打1800 QSTUDY(+61 1800 778 839)。

Frequently asked questions COVID-19 Frequently asked questions for students and agents, Subclass 500 (schools) visa

I am a commencing student and would like to defer my studies due to the COVID-19 virus? Yes, you can defer your studies with EQI. The COVID-19 virus is considered both a compassionate and compelling circumstance. For information regarding deferring your enrolment prior to arrival (commencement of your course) please see Enrolment - Subclass 500 (schools) visa procedure under the Enrolment tab.

I am a continuing student. Can I suspend my enrolment and return home immediately? Yes, you can suspend your studies with EQI for reasons related to the COVID-19 virus. This is considered both a compassionate and compelling circumstance. This means if you cannot attend school for reasons related to the COVID-19 virus EQI will ensure that your inability to attend school will not impact your attendance requirements. The duration approved will depend on the course you are registered for as defined in the Entry and course requirement standards and your age. No extensions to the following duration for suspensions of enrolment will be provided. · Year 12 – maximum of ten weeks only · Year 11 – maximum of ten weeks only · Year 10 - maximum of twenty weeks only · Year prep to year 9 - maximum of twenty weeks only · High School Preparation – maximum of ten weeks only

Will I be entitled to a refund if I suspend, withdraw or defer my enrolment because of COVID-19 virus? Yes, we consider the COVID-19 situation both a compassionate and compelling circumstance and your refund will be considered on a case by case situation. EQI will apply a refund of prepaid fees. This may be less our administration fee and the homestay placement fees remitted to school staff for actions already taken to arrange your homestay. As an option, EQI may re-allocate prepaid fees to future enrolments if parents choose to defer their child’s commencement rather than withdraw. If you make the decision to withdraw or suspend your enrolment a refund is available. You will find our Refund Policy outlined in the Standard terms and conditions.

The amount of your refund depends on the circumstances set out in the Refund policy. Refund request form (PDF, 405KB) Will COVID-19 health related expenses be covered by EQI’s preferred Overseas Student Health Provider? It depends. You must have a policy with Allianz in the first instance. Allianz assesses each claim regardless of severity and it is always reviewed at the time of claim and in line with the policy wording. In terms of cover for this condition — OSHC is closely aligned to the Medicare system — therefore if a student was to visit a GP for medical treatment then this would be covered as part of the policy (100% of the MBS Fee). Similarly, if a student was to visit a hospital's emergency department with a suspected (or subsequently confirmed) case of COVID-19 then coverage would likely be confirmed for this treatment as it was sought under an emergency situation (100% of the MBS Fee). Limits, exclusions and terms and conditions apply. Please note that waiting periods may apply for treatment for pre-existing conditions. Students should read Allianz’s FAQ section of their website and/or contact Allianz directly.

My course is finished but I cannot return home due to travel restrictions /due to limited international flights? In the event that your flight is delayed or cancelled you should notify your school coordinator and agent. If you require advice after hours, weekends or during the school holidays you can call 1800 QSTUDY (+61 1800 778 839). This is our free support phone service for international students studying in state schools in Queensland, homestay providers, parents and agents. In any case EQI will work with your school to maintain welfare and ensure your accommodation and educational needs are being met. You may need to contact the Department of Home Affairs regarding your visa end date.

I am a non-resident. Will I commence my program in Term 2, 2020? The Australian Government has imposed current restrictions to all foreign nationals (excluding permanent residents of Australia). Currently, you will not be allowed to enter Australia from 20 March 2020 9:00pm AEDT. You will need to defer your studies to another academic term or withdraw.

If travel restrictions are lifted can I start my enrolment midterm? EQI may review your request on a case by case basis depending on the program you were entering. In most cases EQI would suggest pushing your enrolment back to the following term.
