Last week we emailed some of our prospective students to announce a special intake in April 2020 known as Autumn School.
This intake is only available to students wanting to start in the following degrees:
Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Social Sciences Bachelor of Science or Science (Technology), mainly in computer science, Bachelor of Design, Bachelor of Health Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Communication Studies, Bachelor of Management Studies (Hons) Master of Design, Master of IT, MBM Below you will find information about the Autumn School and the steps you can take to support students 你可以在下面找到有关秋季学校的信息，以及你可以采取的帮助学生的措施
Get a head start this April
Some students will be able to start their degrees this April and complete two papers (30 points) towards their programme over a nine-week period.
· Programme start date: Tuesday 28 April 2020
· Programme end date: Friday 5 June 2020
· Enrolment deadline: Friday 1 May 2020 (end of the first week of Autumn School classes)

The Autumn School intake of the MBM will start on Monday 4th May, so the last day to enrol for this programme is Friday 8th May. 秋季入学的MBM课程将于5月4日(周一)开始，因此报名该课程的最后一天是5月8日(周五)。
There is a limited selection of papers available in April. Students can continue their studies over B and C Trimester 2020. 四月份可供选择的论文有限。学生可以在2020年的B和C阶段继续学习。
We realise that with the latest NZ Government announcement regarding self-isolation for everyone entering NZ (including Kiwis), it will make it hard for students to join this intake in time so the University is very likely to offer these papers online. 我们意识到，新西兰政府最近宣布，所有进入新西兰的人(包括新西兰人)都要自我隔离，这将使学生很难及时加入这一新生群体，所以大学很可能会在网上提供这些论文。
Visas and arrival information
We have consulted with Immigration New Zealand regarding the rule that international students must be enrolled full time and they have agreed to allow international students to enrol in this intensive intake as two papers over 8 – 9 weeks is considered full time.
If students study online, there is no requirement for a visa.

If you have students wishing to defer to B trimester in 2020 or A trimester 2021, please follow the steps below:
Steps to defer:
Log into your student's application in MyWaikato
Request a deferral by clicking the 'request deferral' link
Select your desired intake
Please note, it will take two to three weeks to process a deferral request and unfortunately there is no guarantee that the same decision (i.e. an offer or conditional offer) will be made to the deferred application as availability of programmes (and core courses) vary between academic years and trimesters.
