This afternoon, the university has decided to pause all on-campus teaching at our Hawthorn campus, including lectures, teaching labs and tutorials, from Tuesday 17 March until Friday 20 March.

From Monday 23 March, most courses will be delivered online using existing learning management systems. Where this is not feasible, alternative flexible learning arrangements will be made.

Rest assured, all available support services, including additional learning and health and wellbeing services, are being provided to students.

We want to reassure you there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Swinburne community. We continue to exercise care and caution in our approach with a view to doing all we can to delay and minimise the spread of the virus.

University facilities remain open and our staff continue to work on campus, while implementing the latest advice on social distancing.

Information for current students

Students have been sent the following email update this evening: COVID 19: Classes to be temporarily paused.

If students have questions, require support or need to notify us about their situation, they can contact askgeorge@swin.edu.au.

New travel advice

Please note that from midnight on Sunday 15 March, anyone returning to Australia from overseas is required to self-isolate for a period of 14 days. Students who are required to self-isolate will be given appropriate support to minimise the disruption to their studies.
